Job description

 

Main Responsibilities

 

My clients Operations Manager will have the following areas of responsibility:

 

· Customer Support Services:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, reporting and day-to-day management of the Customer Support Services area and associated processes and personnel. In this regard the manager will coordinate with the Development Manager, with regard to third tier customer support, and the Sales Manager, with regard to servicing active accounts, the Sales Engineering Manager with regard to doing pre-sales support and the IT Operations Manager with regard to infrastructure operations. In particular this manager would also be responsible for setting up and managing the 24/7 support centre, over time.

 

· Reseller/Distributor/Client Support Coordination:

All parties in the channel are involved in client support processes. In this regard the manger will coordinate closely with the Sales Manager, the Development manager and with the Channel Support Managers to ensure that the support processes are understood, integrated and managed successfully.

 

· Program Management:

Certain client contracts require integration projects to integrate our technology into our clients businesses and systems. This includes projects for Pilot/Proof of concept purposes, as well as actual live integrations. In this regard the Operations Manger will take the program management responsibility for these integration projects and will coordinate the efforts of the various areas, as well as client responsibilities, to make these projects successful and present a polished and professional interface to the client.

 

· Logistics:

As the company offering grows to include physical devices the logistics of coordinating delivery with vendors and clients will become more important. The Operations manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, reporting and day-to-day management of logistics.

 

· IT Operations:

My client hosts various systems. The Operations manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, reporting and day-to-day management of the operations pertaining to the hosting of these systems, including business continuity.

 

· HR:

Staff contracts, induction, staff well being, policies and procedures, disciplinary issues.

 

· Information Security Officer:

Ensure that the product and physical security of the business is managed.

Participate in regular security forums and ensure compliance. Report quarterly to the board.

 

· General:

Reception, Infrastructure including building maintenance.

 

 Required skill set

 

· Human Resource Management experience

· At least 5 years operational experience in an IT company

· Experience setting up a Customer Support department

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

· Knowledge of contract management and experience in organisational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices

· Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives

· Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

· Budget development and oversight experience

· A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

· Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment

· Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
